I'd have to be an idiot to suggest that the author is the sole contributer to a book. I'd have to be an even bigger idiot to expect you to believe it. The list of those who contributed to this manual is a long one to be sure sure. From employers past and present—who gave me the opportunity to "feed my mind" and hone my skills to those who allowed me to photograph their equipment, the list of contributors is a lengthy one. There is no way that I could have written this manual without them. Since they have been thanked profusely, I'll take this opportunity to thank the person who is usually shoved to the back of the line—my wife and best friend Anna.
For nearly twenty-five years my wife Anna has endured more than any wife deserves to and many times more than most women ever would. In all that I've ever done or all that I've ever wanted to do, she has been my number one supporter. In fact, more often than not, she's been my only one supporter. Lest you have any doubt make no mistake that if saving her life meant giving up my own or taking the life of another, I wouldn't blink an eye or think twice. I have to think that God expects that of me and may God forgive me if I'm wrong.
I don't think the question of how often you win is nearly as important
as how hard you fight.
